Auzion in early 2013 installed the Energy Maximiser at a Collins Food restaurant, KFC Deagon. The aim of the project
was to monitor power consumption at the KFC Deagon site and smartly display key circuit analysis through the
Energy Maximiser display.
Collins Group is monitoring the initiative ahead of determining the extent to which other restaurants around the nation
may be encouraged to also explore the cost-saving benefits of Auzion’s Energy Maximiser system.
Aim – To be able display and monitor each circuit enables Collins Foods to establish where the key power
consumption is taken place.
With a few months of data and analysis under the belt is starting give a clear picture of the potential savings from the
Other key benefits include being to identify where to make savings ie Air Conditioning and the ability to search for
energy efficient products that can complement these areas.
Implement these changes with the ability to bench mark consumption before installation and validate the savings after
installation – a smart way to demonstrate the payback of new equipment and identify where it should be installed.
After the installation of the Energy Maximiser at KFC Deagon the following data was
obtained for the Kitchen Air Conditioning circuit for two periods noted below.
February – 7/2/2013 – 26/2/2013 – kWh consumption – 8892.06 kWh
April – 4/4/2013 – 23/4/2013 – kWh consumption – 4666.1 kWh
Ambient outside air temperature difference for the two periods – – 2.05 Degrees C
Percentage drop in consumption of Kitchen AC – 47.5%
Consumption Savings over the 20 day period – 4225.96kWh – $338.07 @ 8c/kWh
Over and above consumption there will be peak demand savings ongoing.
In addition to targeting energy savings for businesses, for whom sharply rising electricity costs represent a significant
on-going burden, Auzion also hopes to introduce the low-cost Energy Maximiser to Australia’s millions of home
owners as a means of achieving up to 20% cost savings off their quarterly electricity bills – potentially in partnership
with the Federal Government.
“Whether a fast food outlet or car dealership, or one of the hundreds of homes already deriving significant cost
savings from the system, the break-through here is that the Energy Maximiser is putting power over energy usage
back into the hands of those faced with paying the bills, meaning they can cut waste and opt-out of the massive
sporadic price hikes they’d otherwise be slugged for. “ We’re very proud of the system and believe it has phenomenal
potential,” says Mark Leckenby, CEO of Auzion.
